I started to post this as a follow up to my "Your Last Listen" post about the Strawbs, but it turned into a bit of a self-indulgent ramble, so I created a new thread for you to ignore.
After that post I had to track down Crystal Voyager on YouTube.

There's only one way to watch this of course, if you want the full effect...
The full soundtrack also features some great music by a sort of "house band" formed for the film. They're a bit sort of Byrds/Grateful Dead, and the lead guitarist is a guy named Mick Liber who's actually English. You might remember his guitar if not his name from a little one-hit-wonder called In A Broken Dream by Python Lee Jackson. He also played with Ashton, Gardner & Dyke, Medicine Head and Third World War. The bass player was Tony Cahill from the Easybeats.
If did one-hit-wonders, they'd probably sound like this.
[BBvideo 425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK1OSN8QZ5Q[/BBvideo]
The lead vocalist (yes, it IS him) was given new set of seat covers for his car in lieu of a session payment. It was 1970, he wasn't quite famous yet.
Well, that''s exhausted my geek-quota for the night you'll be pleased to hear.
I'll close with a little story that may lead you to understand me a little better, because I took this as a compliment.
The missus and me were playing Trivial Pursuit many moons ago with a friend and his wife. After getting 7 or 8 in a row correct and gathering a couple of cheeses into the bargain my mate (poshest mate I've got - daddy was something in the Foreign Office, and he's I.T. Director for a huge Scandinavian Bank, you can cut glass with his accent) looks me in the eye and says "Paul, you're nothing but a f*ck*ng smartarse." His wife (Gawd bless her) looked daggers at him and said "Patrick, don't be so rude!" Then came the kicker. She grinned and carried on "He's not a smart-arse. He's just got a head full of sh*t"! From that day forward it became my mantra. I'm not a smart-arse, or a geek, or whatever. I just have a head full of sh*t.
Right, ramble over. Listen to Crystal Voyager if you've got the time to enjoy the images along with the music, and have a listen to Python Lee Jackson too, then name YOUR favourite one-hit-wonder...unless, of course, I've just persuaded you that there's nothing to touch In A Broken Dream.
[EDIT]
Nearly forgot, there's another version of In A Broken Dream that might interest the prog/rock fraternity...Dave Gilmour on guitar and definitely channeling a younger Gilmour playing Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and just for good measure, John-Paul Jones is on bass.

The original 'Echoes' blew my young mind away at the time and set me up for Tangerine Dream a very few years later

Re: Crystal Voyager and one hit wonders.
I remember Python Lee Jackson from about 1972? We all realised it was Mr.Stewart of course, but didn't know that Dave Gilmour and JPJ had covered a version with RS. As for Echoes... probably the best LP side ever. Even now in 2015 I put on this CD and drift away. The rookery reminds me of growing up in East Lancashire and the music is just sublime. Truly phenomenal... I'm richer for growing up amongst these people. Apart from the likes of Muse et al, what do we offer our young people... One Direction?
Primare CD22. Primare DAB/FM radio. SSP to NVA AP70 and AP10H(JS) with Denon AH-D7100's. LS5 to Cube2's.

Re: Crystal Voyager and one hit wonders.
Althea and Donna - Up Town Top Ranking (Number 1 - so defintely a hit)
Duncan Browne - On the Bombsite (I think it broke the top 40)
And possibly stretching the point a bit - I'm the Urban Spaceman Bonzo Dog Band. Well it was their one hit record. Oh! While I'm there, maybe John Otway...

Re: Crystal Voyager and one hit wonders.
Sorry Terry, Otway had 2 hits Check his Twitter page, (he follows me you know) he's very proud of the fact.
Althea and Donna, loved it. Duncan Browne, got a picture disc of "Wild Places" and was very sad when he passed on in '93. He could have done so much more. He did the choral arrangement for "Hang On To A Dream" by The Nice. A big, unrealised, talent i.m.h.o.

Roger Glover - 'Butterfly Ball'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK2Pltm8ZsQ
Glover did actually make an excellent solo album called 'Elements'.

Did Lena Martell have more than the one hit?

Re: Crystal Voyager and one hit wonders.
Lena Martell only had one hit single, thank Gawd. That girl really knew how to bugger up a half decent Kris Kristofferson song.
