Castaway dilemma

It's wet and misty here - time to resurrect an old classic theme:

Imagine - you've won the National Lottery and decide to flee from the hurly-burly of modern life for a while. Spending a few months sailing on your own around the Caribbean in a luxury yacht. Of course you take your treasured stereo and LP collection with you for company.

Usual story; yacht hits reef in storm and you end up alone on a small island with an ancient wind-up gramophone and FIVE albums you managed to salvage.

Yes - you have a hut, there are fish, fruit, coconuts - you don't have to worry about survival, boredom is the main enemy.

So, what are the 5 (just 5) records you would most want to hear/treasure/listen to over and over again in the long, long time you will be stuck there?

Taken me a while to get a choice, but I think I could live with these for quite a while:

Genesis - 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway'
Judie Tzuke - 'Welcome to the Cruise'
Klaus Schulze - '... Live ...'
Simeon Ten Holt - 'Canto Ostinato'
Joy Division - 'Closer' (for those sombre moments)

I could live out my days with these masters......But could just as easily select another 50 albums.

They'd all be classical. Can't think of five off the top of my head, but certainly works by Bach, Haydn and Schubert would in amongst them.

1. Donald Fagen - the Nightfly
2. Charlie Haden - the art of the song
3. Soft Machine 5
4. George Duke -Brazilian Love Affair
5. Something Classical, maybe Bachs Matthew passion because it is more then two hours of music

And jeez Fretless:Judy Zuke! Forgot all about her!
