I always find Frank Black's (aka Black Francis aka Pixies) song lyrics interesting. Unusual and irreverent, a lot of his solo stuff is concerned with space, time, the ocean and other random good stuff

Strange lyrics indeed, I can only hope Mr Black penned them (On the Pan) quite Compos Mentis.... Rather than stoned oot his head on illegal substances..

Seen him live many times in his various guises, including as the front man for the Pixies.

One of the most memorable was a Frank Black solo gig in Shepherds Bush circa 2007/8. He was to play a solo acoustic set first followed by a full on electric set with a band.

Half through his third or fourth acoustic song, he stops admitting he may have had one too many whiskey sours......and that the gig would be better served if he switched to full electric.

Wow, what a gig from that moment on! Unbelievable powerful connection - the mojo was definitely in the room. The crowd just new something special was going on. Not sure what was in those Whiskey sours mind......

Sorry to hear that, not quite sure where Portknockie is - will have to google it.... I'm assuming it's in Scotland, one of my favourite places in the world. My father in law lives in Monifieth so we have been going to Scotland for 20 years +, love it.

Seeing the Pixies in December in Birmingham, can't wait!
