Stephen Morris Joy Division and New Order. Keeps time like a Swiss Watch and his unique style went along way in defining each bands sound. Two magnificent bands I might add.
Apparently Martin Hannett didn't like Morris's drumming style (listen to the 'Warsaw' recordings) and got him to change his sound to more like Jaki Liebzeit from Can. He also had the band set up the drum kit on the studio roof for 'Unknown Pleasures'.
