I'm with Quarknosis. Many things I find dreary such as Stereophonics, Coldplay et al.... and I hate posey stuff like Van Halen etc etc... But it's the ' My wife left me for my dawg, stole my truck and left me with hungry children and a crop in the field'... and so on and so forth. Eat your children! What's the problem? C and W has me running for the off switch.
Primare CD22. Primare DAB/FM radio. SSP to NVA AP70 and AP10H(JS) with Denon AH-D7100's. LS5 to Cube2's.

I'm not into the 'achey breakey' bling c&w...but Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, James Hand, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn; they all make me cry for all the right reasons.

I can live with most types of music, some more than others but it's the bag o shite X Factor style of drivel that makes me want to poke my own ear drums out. Some breathy, whiney little bint or an primped up chav yelling out the same three notes, occasionally in a different order, simply to line the pockets of Simon Cowell et al.
Right, I've vented my spleen and it feels so much better.
My stuff; Toshiba SR-370/Mission 774 /Ortofon Quintet Black, Cambridge CXC CD transport/modified Musical Fidelity X DAC/modified Musical Fidelity X10v3 tube buffer, Nakamichi CA5E preamp, Passive RVC, Proton AA-1150 DMC power amp ,Mordaunt Short Signifer on original factory stands, NVA LS5, Cambridge NP30 network player, Mogami with Neutrik RCA, Sennheiser HD650, 600, Koss Pro4 AA.

Agree on both counts except there is a Band from Bristol called "Cut Capers" who play a blend of hip hop that I quite like. I like the girls voice and the power of the brass section. Worth a listen?

Live video here

I like it for art's sake, but I have been told that they are now banned from home and office when other human beings, or dogs, or cats are present.
Remids me of the intro to an Alberto e Los Trios Paranoias song. There's a bloke strumming a guitar, set up like a folk singer, he says
"I've suffered for my music. Now it's your turn."
