Powered Cube to Cubix (P7) to Cubix Pro (P11)
Re: Powered Cube 1 (Cubix pro head unit)
Thanks for that Dave, Sounds like the finished item is going to be one hell of a speaker indeed......

Re: Powered Cube 1 (Cubix pro head unit) - P7 on with 2nd mo
They have jumped up another level this morning. It seems even though the head units are completely run in now the new modules have to do the same and it is clearly audible.

Re: Powered Cube 1 (Cubix pro head unit) - P7 on with 2nd mo
To anyone denying that speaker mechanics need to settle in after a few hours use, I should say that compared to the wobbly bass drivers in my BC2's (BC1's the same and it's been commented on), the Cubix drivers are incredibly well supported and I've no doubt they'd take a good few hours to 'bed in' properly. The changes I heard yesterday could also have been due in part to my ears settling after the 90 mile car journey to NVA Towers.
Have no doubt, they're now very good indeed and will stand comparison with anything, active or passive, out there. Interesting that the Epos ES14's I loved, which had no crossover on the bass unit, NEVER sounded as 'tactile' as this...

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

All of a sudden 20th Century Schizoid Man is making perfect sense, instead of a Phil Spector type wall of sound and the *effect*, now every instrument line is there in stark contrast. Now I know why they made it, in a way it is musical poetry of the pained distorted mind.

"Everybody is a Cadbury's Fruit and Nutcase" and the Sugar Plum Fairy now - what a contrast, but I absolutely love Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and above all his Ballet music.
