Advice on Speaker Stands

Unread post by Stemcor1990 »

The glorious day has arrived and I am waiting for the Doc to tell me that my Cube 3s are ready to be collected.

In the meantime, I need some help. I borrowed a pair of C 3s under the loan scheme so I know how good they are. I used them on top of my Naim IBLs so a speaker stand 80cm tall is perfect.

The Doc has recommended oak speaker stands who trade on eBay. I like the look of the stands but they have to be black. I will ask oss if they can paint or stain the stands. If the answer is no then who should I ask in respect of painting or staining ? I would not fancy doing this myself as I want a "professional" finish.

Alternatively, can anybody recommend a good pair of stands to use with the C 3s ?

If you stain oak black I will visit your house and beat you to death with them.

If you want black stands have a look at these: http://www.richersounds.com/product/spe ... n-fs104-bk

Fill the central column with kiln sand or, if you are Mr Money Bags, Atacama Attabytes.

George, what's so bad about staining oak ? I took a look at the stands you suggested but they are a bit too "exotic". I have the system in the dining room and have to consider the rest of the family. One of the reasons my IBLs were liked is that they are very discreet.

Come round to my house if you want to but I have to warn you that I am a Millwall fan

I think you should watch some football (so you can suffer the same misery as 99% of the club fans and 100% of England fans). Just keep the bike handy for a fast getaway after the game

I have taken a look at the Atacama website and they do not offer 80cm tall stands. The search continues.....
