DIRECT input on pre amp

Unread post by Hemmo1969 »

Gonna get flamed I know but....... what is the benefit of ‘direct’ on the pre amp?

Is this better to use than another input for any given source?

Not much, it bypasses the small negative effect of the selector switch contacts. If you only have one source then you don't need the others. If you have other inputs connected then don't use it. BUT in those circumstances you can use it as an out for a headphone amp, being passive it works both ways.
