One of the joys of Hifi is the unboxing....

Tradition requires:

• White Gloves

• Stanley Knife

• A Box

At the moment I've got the gloves, I've got the knife - but no bloody box.

And the postal van has just whizzed past me - without even a nod or a wink. The horse did look tired though.

So tracking be damned.

Maybe tomorrow.

Have to find my knife and gloves again....

I am rather reminded of an old cartoon about a man and his dog. The dog is depressed.

"I can't keep on living like this, " he says. "I am so depressed. I want to end it all".

The Man says, "Here's your ball, Fido".

The dog runs after the ball.

"Oh my god. Oh my god. A ball. This is the best day of my life."

Moving slowly forward....

It is cold out, so I am letting the boxes slowly warm up to room temperature before I turn them on.

But I must say I am impressed by what was in-the-box. (Open the box/Open the box).

Well packed. Lovely cables with nice terminals. The pre-amp was smaller than I imagined and the amp was bigger and heavier, than I imagined. And all very nice and lovely.

Things are connected up, so now I am going to go a long walk with the dog in the bright sunshine and cold air.....

And then - Serious Business.
