Quote from David Elwood

"For the forward-facing or upward-facing tweeter?
One of the advantages of being active is you dont need to run the upwards facing drivers just to keep the passive crossover happy.
I reckon this was the main reason for them being there.
Mine have been removed and the speakers sound better for it."

So he turned Isobarik's to active and removed the up facing drivers.

Not sure about that one :?:

Hmmm. Disconnecting the upper drivers makes the sound more coloured than ever I remember.. Going active with these I do agree with, but not with Naim now...
...I have renounced the worldly bustle and live in peace at a quiet place,
I live alone in this my heaven, in my love (and) in my songs.

Not active, active means electronic crossovers, I would not willingly let one of those near one of my amps. Cubix Pro are just built in amps in the speakers it is the same (lack of) passive crossover. Amps are inboard, power supplies are outboard, basically BBPSUs.

I can never explain why I don't like NS1000, they do so many thing right, but they for some reason don't let me relax into the music, I sit there with an itch not knowing how or where to scratch it.

What is it wth pfm ? It is like a car crash for me. It is horrific but i can't help looking. Probably doesn't help that i got banned for voicing an opinion that the management did not like.

If you are not part of the clique then your days are numbered if you like me could not help but voice your opinion. All opinions are valid unless they go against the grain of established members or the paid up industry slurpers who would do anything to silence the voice of dissent. Disgusting. Thank god for the ability to voice ones opinion here.
