I can never explain why I don't like NS1000, they do so many thing right, but they for some reason don't let me relax into the music, I sit there with an itch not knowing how or where to scratch it.
Not knowing the NS1000 I looked them up and found this:

It appears, though, that Yamaha may have a tough job of selling their 1000 speakers to buyers, for everyone knows that metal cones sound metallic, and since the speakers are sold without grille cloth covers—the drivers are visible through wire-mesh covers—there is no concealing the fact that the mid- and upper-range drivers on the 1000 are metal. Thus, most audiophiles who have listened to our review pairs of NS-1000s have claimed to hear the metallic quality of those speakers. Interestingly, though, when some of them heard the same speakers, after having been told that other speakers standing next to them were operating, they no longer heard the metallic sound and were quite enthusiastic about what they heard. Strange, what a prejudice can do...

The full review is at NS1000 review

Still an objectiveist review but obviously written by someone who isn't totally fixed on measurement.

Down grading from an Lp12 - must be having a laugh. Didn't think you could get any lower.

The thread is hilarious. Having blown all that money on the upgrades it is no wonder he is in debt and he went a year without using it.

A theme of the thread is that LP12s are not being played much, alternative decks and streaming sounding better. The OP seems to think his best option is to sell the LP12 in parts. A Frankenstein creation springs to mind.

I’ve bought 15 grams of powdered Nembutal (sodium pentobarbital) and anti-emetic drugs to stop myself throwing it up. Also testing kit to test its purity. They tell you how to get it in the peaceful pill handbook. I geuss I know there is nobody to really help, this is just vindication of that.

The banned list is getting enormous at AoS, but people don't realise they are still counted as member in the total of members count.
