What else are you hooked on?
We're all "hooked on hi-fi" (Hmmm, an album title there if ever I heard one) otherwise we wouldn't be here but is that just the tip of the iceberg? I collected vinyl for many years, and I don't mean just yer bog-standard albums and 45s but picture discs, coloured vinyl, and other things that I hoped would become rarities. All of the local junk shops knew me, as did the staff of the local charity shops (they got wise pretty quick though, and I'm positive that Oxfam at least developed some sort of centralised valuing system as I heard a poor "Saturday girl" getting a tremendous rollicking one day for selling some Bill Haley and Everly Brothers' 78s as soon as they came in rather than waiting...and yes, I've still got them. )
But I digress...
I've recently bought a watch. Not a posh watch, just a Fossil ME-1000 that I saw on eBay and liked the look of. Then I saw a Fossil FS-4357. Cool! it was brown! I bid on that too, and won it. Now I'm scouring the listings every bloody day.
I now own more watches than I do wrists (I already had a couple of Accurists) and I'm thinking that more will be winging their way to me over the coming months. So, apparently I've started collecting watches. Not so I can be a pukka "collector" but just so I've got some nice, tasteful (I hope) wrist bling.
Long winded ramble over, and this bottle of port is dead. What else do you collect, or do you aim to start collecting at some stage that isn't hi-fi related?
Supplementary question - Is eBay the spawn of Satan, or just a bloody good invention?

Also a recovering watch addict.
eBay hmm main source of my watch addition - I still use it among others but local shops (those not addicted to crass commercialism) are also used. Having said that, I've found eBay damn useful for widgets what I need (e.g. a right angled drill adapter) not commonly available in shops and there are still, if you look, some enthusiast stuff there.

Re: What else are you hooked on?
As strange as it sounds (especially to me) I seem to be hooked on this forum. I find myself coming back for more even if most of the time there isn't much exept the ongoing aos saga .. Maybe it is the fascination for the "Quixoteness" of some of the opinions expressed? Of course, there is also the technical stuff which I like and the talk about experiences around the NVA platform.. :? the listening now thread and some out of sync funny posts from some members..
edit : and yes, I also could very easily get hooked on that Spanish Ham !!mmmm!!

Re: What else are you hooked on?
You mean apart from Cigarette's, Hooker's, Crack Cocaine, & Booze.?
Tough one...
Well I do on occasions enjoy snuggling up to the missus with a nice cup of Horlic's whilst Coronation Street is on.
P.S.
One of the above statments is indeed false
