Just been watching about half hour of the English equiv of the IPL - what a ferkin' joke and a clear example of what is going wrong with English cricket run by the outmoded County system. Less than a hundred people wandering around a field with a few dogs, with a few sparce hand claps. Compare this with 100k people in Kolkata or New Delhi screaming their heads off with fun and enthusiasm.

English cricket has really become a sad joke.

You get out what you put in. The International traveling T20 circus has invested millions to make the game exciting, explosive, and accessible even to people who would generally give cricket a miss. A lot of the "purists" hate the format, but then again a lot of the purists appear to be English.
