IPL
Probably only a thread for Slinger and me, BUT I am really enjoying this years IPL on Freeview ch24, the atmosphere, the crowds the shear excitement, and a sort of fun naivety of the packed huge stadiums, all dressing up and dancing, and so much noise! For me it is like the West Indies cricket used to be in the old days, full of characters. IMO opinion to put side by side with the T20 blast running in the UK is like the difference between an FA cup final and a football conference game, both in professionalism and organisation and for the stature and status of the *event*.
The only disappointment is that is that KP doesn't seem to care less and it has rubbed off on the Delhi Daredevils who have been a joke. Also Gayle hasn't been his usual self but others are stepping up with the sixes.
It is time the ECB woke up (or died like the bunch of old fogies they are) English cricket has been left way behind by the professionalism of The Big Bash and the IPL.
Also it is great for me working as I have it running on the TV behind me when I work and any good shots or wickets I just turn around and watch the replays, but I get all the atmosphere.

Re: IPL
As a bit of a fan of RCB I'm disappointed that a) they're out of the playoffs yet again and b) that Chris Gayle's injury has deprived us of the usual spectacle. I can't remember the last time the stats for sixes hit (number of, longest, etc) weren't dominated by Big Chris. Moaning about RCB aside though, it's been very enjoyable, especially the way the league was embraced by the UAE. Both they and India certainly know how to put on a show.

Bloody Hell! That's what 20-20 is all about - pure adrenaline-fuelled excitement. Brilliant stuff from Mumbai.
