Lunch and dinner, all eight of us around the kithen table. We also all eat breakfast at the table but its staggered as we get up at different times.

We all eat around the table in the breakfast room. When I was a nipper we all ate around the table in the dining room, with the TV on. Muggins here was the one who had to sit with his back to the screen.

The parish priest used to do his rounds, and maybe visit us once a month or so. The trouble was, his visits always seem to coincide with one of our favourite TV programmes ('Supercar' being one of them). The TV would be switched off, and by the time he'd finished jawing and left the news would be on. The solution might have been for him and my mother to go into the sitting room (which was always kept clean and tidy) but unfortunately it was also freezing cold in there. He was Father MacDonald rather than Father McKenzie though.

Religion has a lot to answer for - I was dressed in my Sunday best and dragged off to Sunday School - Missed some great kids TV programes..
Always a nice Sunday Dinner after though.

Today, I'm going to eat my meal standing up in front of my hi-fi.

EDIT: ''Ampless'' hi-fi that should be!!
