Just like you, I hate people interfering when I'm eating. Food is far too good for anything to intrude :grin:

My father was a moody bugger sometimes. One thing he hated was us chatting at mealtimes. When we were having Sunday dinner, it was silence all round. Inevitably one of us children would get a fit of the giggles and be sent into the garden, from where we'd make faces at our sisters/brothers, until eventually we'd all be outside.

Clearly an effecting parental strategem for getting a bit of peace and quiet!

Since there are only two of us in our family and dinner is always ready when I walk in the door it's plate/tray on ma knee whilst I hear all about her busy day housekeeping/walking the dog/building jigsaws, all eating done so I can watch the news with a cuppa.
