I've got Live Mail running quite happily on Windows 10 Dave. I had a minor issue with an outdated WiFi card, but other than that the changeover went very smoothly. To be honest I haven't found this increase in speed that people keep talking about, if anything it takes longer to boot now that my old Windows 7 installation did. On the whole I'd say it's It's worth upgrading simply because it's free for now and Micro$haft will eventually stop supporting whatever flavour of Windows you have at the moment. Not for a good while yet, I admit, but when I see the first person that has to actually pay to upgrade to Win10 I will be pointing and laughing.

My view is very much leave well alone, minor issues for you are major cock ups for me. When I buy a new computer it will have the latest version and that is what it will stay with.

My computers are several years old, but I must admit to liking my son's Windows 10 installation on a year old system.

Selby sir, I may be in touch about Live Mail when I've done the office system upgrade if I can't suss it out myself. This Dell laptop will stay as-is for now ;)

I didn't need to do a thing to Live Mail, it was there before the upgrade and it was there after, with no loss of historic emails. I'll bet it's the same for you.

It wasn't, or didn't seem to be when I did this laptop. Anyway, Windows 7 re-installed, updated and running well on this machine.

P.S. I hope an 'Aero' app becomes available for Windows 10, as I like the visual effects.

I must admit to thinking the same thing. I do find that Windows 10 is a bit "basic" looking. It's a bit like putting a supercharged V8 in a Ford Anglia.

Having some stability problems here, running W10 on my Dell laptop (originally bought with Windows Vista). The Start Menu keeps vanishing and I have had a 'Critical Problem' message a couple of times and had to restart the computer. There have been several Microsoft updates in the last few days and it seems that they are implementing 'tweaks'.

If you don't want the hassle you might be advised to wait a week or two while they iron the bugs out.

The bugs are most likely driver issues. In theory if you wait for the update then it'll only be sent when Microsoft have sorted that out. If you push the install, then you may have issues. Having said that, I've got it running on 4 different machines of different types and I'm not seeing any basic issues.

The only weirdness I've been experiencing is that the Edge browser and the Store don't work for me. They flash up on the screen and then vanish. I've searched everywhere for a fix but no luck so far. I know Edge used to work so it's probably a conflict between something on my system and one of the updates Micro$haft have sent. It's needle and haystack time.

I am quite happy using Windows 7 and 8.1 at this point but from what i have read up to now windows 10 is not that much faster or more advanced i may get to prove this from a practical point of view if and when i get a spare machine to test it on in the future. :ugeek:
