Having just driven through France and Belgium to get back home to the Netherlands you see how the different areas do retain their cultural identity despite having open borders and common currency. The Belgians have trouble internally because the French-speaking area looks down on the Flemish speakers - who regard the French Wallonians as arrogant and lazy.

Belgium is a strange land. Good cooks though.

When we were in Belgium, our tour guide explained how the Flemish hated the Walloons, and vice-versa. We asked him for his own view and he replied 'I'm from Luxembourg; we hate everyone, except the English.' Then he smiled and said, 'Of course, if you were Germans, I'd say we hated everyone except the Germans'.'

Confirmation of what I have been watching for two months now. Started in the month leading up to the vote and progressively got worse since.

Sufferers are "wants not needs" lifestyle decisions, so hi-fi is really being kicked up the arse.

So, is the French posting of just one border control officer at Dover really just because they are concerned about border security following the Nice atrocity :hand:

I said months ago the vote was a waste of time as it would all end up in a fudge if we voted to leave - and it has.
