I second Doc's view here. The policy appears to be: Look as if we're really trying but just showing how difficult / impossible / impractical / damaging the Brexit is. Tories can safely go to a new election which nullifies the referendum. End result; no change but the Conservatives gain an enormous control over everything.

Aye, we should Zebo, but the sad truth is (We're British) we wont do anything.
We will remain indifferent and accept whatever bullshit those in power deem fit to feed us...... :angry-steamingears:

Cheers FB :guiness;

An intresting but somewhat perplexing read.
Who knows where, when, or in what form the next worldwide changing catalyst
will raise it's head........ :think:

Catalyst is already here Jam. The rise of nationalism and right wing reactionary politics caused by global economic uncertainty. Looking at immigration as the root cause of your problems - rather than looking in the mirror and thinking about the kind of society you would want to live in.

All the old people crying "I've got my country back".....what a load of nonsense. Just not enough understanding of how the global economy works, unless you live in a self sustained little Island in the Pacific somewhere.

The rise in right wing reactionaries then fuels so-called "religious" fundamentalism and the powder keg (good Fall song....) is created.

You could be right Copper....... :think:

Perhaps the catalyst will be the election of Donald Trump as president of the USA in a few weeks time......... :think:

The question may turn out to be "will there be an EU of which to remain a member?"
Immigration isn't the problem, without it Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA would be empty and Europe very crowded. The real problem is that we all want more and we want it for very little while big business wants to make lost of money and pay very little which two positions are untenable. The NVA model of "make a good product and sell it direct" actually makes more sense than does the big business model of "make it cheap and sell it expensive to support a host of middle men/women".
