Re: Paypal is not secure

Unread post by CN211276 »

February 1 has arrived and I still have not received the refund. The cowboy seller seems to know how to get round them, probably through a lot of experience. When I bought the phone the sellers name was egrow. egrow still have a shop on ebay and thousands of transactions have been completed, recent freedback not the best though. Since I have been trying to recover the money through Paypal, the sellers name has changed from egrow, who had previously ignored my communications, to nero.

After sending a photograph of the phone, Paypal said I needed to send the item back to nero, as it arrived, with a tracking number. The address provided was in China. This seemed very strange as when the phone did not work when it was first delivered I had to send it to a UK address for a replacement.

I went to the post office yesterday and was told that I could not send the phone to China for safety reasons as it contained a battery. I have explained this to Paypal through their resolution service and am waiting for a response.

This goes to show that Paypal is not secure where unscrupulous cowboy ebay traders are concerned. I think it is worth mentioning that since this problem arrived I have been invited to complete surveys by both ebay and Paypal and the subject matter mainly concerned dodgy sellers. They seem to be aware there is a problem.

A lesson I have learnt is not to buy anything on ebay again, for anything but small amounts, unless I am certain the seller is reputable.

Don't buy anything from China is the lesson. If it is too cheap to be believed it is likely a fake or badly made product. There is a suspicion that recent plane crashes and disappearances may be related to exploding batteries. One destroyed my former neighbours car.

I am happy with them, yes sometimes they are a pain in the arse, but all big companies are sometimes. For me they save me employing someone or having to do it myself, in this case they are a bargain. There will be no problems with nva sales on ebay or paypal.

I sold by Brennan B2 on eBay last week. During the auction I changed e-mail accounts and updated eBay, however upon the sale being made my money was sent to my old e-Mail address which no longer was linked to my PP account. I re-added it to claim the cash but PaPal put a 21 day hold on it. Stupid fucking pricks couldn't take two minutes to look at my account history and realise I had used the original e-mail address for over 5 years!

I have sent multiple messages, but it's like talking to a brick wall. The only good is that the delay is reduced to 7 days. That cash is ear-marked for a Top Secret NVA Project™ and now I have to wait another week.

Thanks Doc. They did give me access to their phone number some years back but forgot to record it. Could come in handy sometime. All these companies now want to keep phone contact numbers secret but you can usually google to find sites that reveal them.

No further info from Paypal so I phoned the number the Doc gave. It is answered by a bloody robot - a pet hate of mine. Went through numerous steps and all I got was the robot repeating parrot fashion what I already knew. I was not able to speak to anyone about being instructed to send something to China and being refused. They are a fucking joke.
