Media Streamer

Can anyone recommend a media streamer that I can connect to my TV via HDMI and will allow me to connect to movies on my NAS? I do not want to use PLEX, I just want to be able to browse to a network share and then play the file.

Pi3 gives you built-in wireless capability.

And a more powerful CPU or the same? I can always hook it up via powerline adapters if needed, so WIFI is not the be all and end all.

As far as I know both the Pi2 and Pi3 have similar processing power, can be made to work excellently as video streamers and have the necessary HDMI port.

Cheap as chips too :guiness;

Video isn't really my thing, though. I have an Apple TV unit for Netflix and that's about all.
