Not sure the majority has much of a view on many things.

Then democracy doesn't exist in your world.

Democracy certainly exists in theory, in practice I have not seen much of it about over the last few years, certainly not the democracy of an informed electorate.

An informed electorate has never existed, well they are are informed but mostly with what people want them to hear, but that is normal again. Nothing is perfect, we work with what we have got and maybe try to improve it.

But for all the people trying to improve it twice as many are looking for ways to use it to their advantage.

As Churchill said, “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.”

Or, as H L Mencken put it:

'Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it, good and hard'
