The work's Christmas doo

Unread post by karatestu »

It's that time of year again. As always, i am looking forward to my work Christmas doooo.

It's just me and a nice bottle of single malt. Oh and maybe a few farm yard animals   A competition to see who can get the most wankered.

Last years doo was quite eventful. I won the most pissed award by miles and then passed out on the floor in front of the log burner.

I am so glad i dont have to ass kiss a boss, or any employees to worry about. I once had an employed job way back in the distant past. The office politics, back stabbing, arse licking and general fighting to get promoted was tedious to say the least.

I have been self employed for the last 25 years and no regrets. I dont get paid holidays, sick leave or pension contributions (i do pay into one though) and to be quite honest, the freedom of being in control of one's own destiny is worth more than anything. Plus, being in two industries which are closer to nature than most gives me a real buzz and a feeling of being down to earth. I dont have to go to a gymn to stay fit as my work is physical and i eat and drink as much as i like and dont put on weight. Worth more to me than any high paid, ego inflated non job where i have to wear a suit.

Rant over.....
