For this reason people in remote areas throughout the UK might have to travel long distances. The English health minister is an arse and it has been acknowledged that funds have been misdirected. In Wales where the situation is not as serious, the Minister, his predecesor and senior officials are competent.
I live in Mid Wales, our local hospital only caters for minor injuries. Anything more serious and we have to go into England for treatment. Last year my daughter was taken into hospital in an emergency situation.....a 45 minute journey! A friend going for cancer treatment has to travel even further....over 75mins. So it might be ok in Cardiff but not that great for all of us.

Re: Who is to blame for NHS crisis?
The broad formula is:
The amount of funding per head given to the NHS, over the productivity / efficiency of the NHS operation, equals the effectiveness of outcomes.
The Conservative government seeks to improve the latter by cutting the former - necessity being the mother of invention. This 'works' to a very small extent for a very short while; some sloppy practice / wastefulness is removed. However, once the 'low hanging fruit' has been bagged you are left with more complex projects that will take several years to implement properly and require up-front investment. As cuts bite and the service then struggles to keep up with the intensified day-to-day pressures, the ability to make positive long-term change is reduced. The Conservatives then use this deterioration as a tried and trusted method (see British Rail, BT, Royal Mail) to introduce further privatisation.
A Labour government usually seeks to increase funding to the NHS, not surprisingly given that the creation of the NHS is considered by most as one of the party's greatest ever achievements. The Conservatives seek to portray increased funding as wasteful and unaffordable.
Unless you are a millionaire buying your own healthcare, voting Conservative will damage your health...

Anybody.....ANYBODY who votes for Tory bastards should be strung up by their tuppeny ha'penny snobby balls, from the nearest lampost. They and their voters are vermin.
Somebody’s telling me the latest scandals.
