The apocalypse

Unread post by karatestu »

Imagine a mad max style world. Could you survive ? Find food in the wild after looting of shops had exhausted all supplies ? Protect yourself against some nutter who wants to kill you for your posessions or rape your daughter ?

Are there any Ray Mears type survivalists on hfs ? I doubt it some how. The young of today (and most older people) would be totally fooked. The want it now generation who have no interest or connection with nature, where food comes from or how to survive in the wild. If it can't be bought or stolen what they gonna do ? You can't throw money at the problem. Your degree in utter bollocks will be of no use either.

Growing up on a farm, growing veggies and having a keen interest in nature and the outdoors since i was seven years old and working in agriculture and horticulture probably makes me more likely than most to survive after an apocalyptic event. Oh and i own numerous shotguns and know enough karate to kick your ass so don't bother coming to try and steal my potatoes.

Years ago my archery instructor said that we should not think of archery as a sport but rather as a post apocalyptic survival skill - everyone laughed then... well as it is now it might come handy ;]

I'd drop my speakers on your head and then steal your spuds. :violence-stickwhack:

Funny how those most worried about the legality of our current situation are the first to kill you and steal your food.

Thankfully not. You can have guns if you are a farmer. Just got to convince a policeman every so often that you have no nutter tendencies. It's quite hard to act sensibly but it doesn't last long and i can go back to normal when plod has gone.
