New!!!!! NVA CD players

Unread post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

I keep getting people talk about this so I have decided to call your bluff

I can make a Black Box CD player based on a good DVD transport with audio out and digital out, with the usual NVA tricks and big power supplies built in like with the original CD players from the 90's. Price £600.00. AND / OR a Statement one based on the current Statement designs with massive external power supplies for £1600.00

I will only do either if I get 10 orders based on trust that I know what I am doing as there is no return on them, and a 30% non returnable deposit up front to help finance the build. Then I will order the cases and build them which will be a two to three month process.

LIST OF ORDERS

#1 - phil66
#2 - macca
#3 - fisherman
#4 - Jammy
#5 - NeilMcClurg68

Provisional - applemarc

When payment received Jammy's is #1

I have been avoiding it for years Jammy as it is hassle for spares in the future. I cannot repair any of the 90's ones, but this is a Sony transport mechanism so good chance it will be available as spares for at least a decade. But this is a call your bluff, I need to be convinced it is viable to produce it. So I foresee it, if the first batch sells, being a batch process, but we will see.

As I keep saying it is not up to me, I have explained it, it is up to 10 of you. When I get 10 deposits I order the parts and build them, if I don't get 10 deposits in a sensible time (up to you) then I return the deposits.

The unit would look the same as the old CD50 and would be the new CD50. My case makers have found the old drawings from the 1990s. There would be probably be some positional changes on the front panel to fit the new donor unit. Operation as with the original only via the remote.
