AP70(sa)
Doc
Would it be possible to upgrade my AP70 to a AP70sa? I'm guessing the case can take it. If so what would the cost be?

My Kit – I moved to home theatre setup sorry...Denon SR7011, Anthony Gallo A'Diva SE Fronts, SpeakerCraft Profile AIM LCR3 One Rears, BK Electronics XLS200-DF MK2 Sub, Epson Projection.
But I would love a cheeky little AP10, AP20 sort of amp for a bedroom setup...

Hi Selby, sorry if I add on your thread but since you're talking about AP70.
Hi Doc,
What great products you have. I am a fan from Malaysia.
I have one unit of AP70 (bought used online) which have very different sound characteristics to my other NVA amps.
Sound is smoother (too smooth infact) and volume need to be cranked up so high to jave decent volume but still lose out in terms of dynamics or openness that NVA usually have. Other amps i have are an old AP50 (chrome panel) and A60/P50. Both have similar dynamic and open character which I believe is the hallmark of NVA, hence I think I have pretty good idea how NVA amps sounded.
Upon further checking, noticed that vol pots are Alps Blue (must have been changed). I am not sure what else have been changed inside the unit.
Seeking your advise. Initial thought was to ship tye AP70 to you, but may be too expensive. Can I buy the original pots or suitable upgrade pots from you and I'll install here locally in Malaysia? Thanks Doc in advance for advise.

Welcome to the forum abe.
Cant imagine there's too much NVA kit kicking about Malaysia, let alone NVA fans.

Re: AP70(sa)
This is now of more interest to me as I am the new owner of Selby's AP70. I need to hear the amp properly set up first but I was already thinking of getting a stepped attenuator fitted if it is possible.
Main System. Amp - Luxman LV-120, CD - Pioneer PDX505 & Hitachi DA 401. Turntable - Trio KD-2055/Denon DL-110 & Ortofon VMS20E. Cassette Deck - JVC KD A55. Speakers - Arcam Alpha connected with NVA LS3.
Headphone System - Little Dot Mkiii headphone amp, various vintage CD players into NVA P50 with Sennheiser HD600 and Beyer DT 880
