.reminds me of Zappa solos quite a bit.
Interesting comparison, I would have said I would never have thought of making that connection, but I loved both their playing even though it was a different as I could imagine. Alan was one of the players that was so good, it wasn't even worth no hoper’s like me even trying. I had one of his music books years ago, it was fun just trying to play the chord shapes he used (and very painful). One of my favourite finger breakers was this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkVTzqrIMfw

I like McLaughlin quote "I recall a show I saw him at in London about 14 years ago. After the concert I said to him, ‘If I knew what you were doing, I’d steal everything, but I don’t know what you are doing!’

Not music, but John Noakes has now left us

Those of us of a certain age will forever remember him as the gung-ho action-man on Blue Peter...

Aye, now he'll be reunited with his beloved Shep. :)

There's a whole generation of Family Guy fans out there that never knew "Mayor West" was Batman.

For those of a certain British age...

BRIAN CANT has gone

"Here is a box, a musical box
Wound up and ready to play
But this box hides, a secret inside

Can you guess what is in it today?"

-----

"Here is a clock, the Trumpton clock
Telling the time, steadily, sensibly
Never too quickly, never too slowly

Telling the time for Trumpton!"

Staple presenter of Playschool in the early days and so very much more...

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
