Slowly but surely, the semi-omni is starting to make waves: big bassy waves in your case. Watch that wall plaster.
Thanks Steve, that means a lot especially from you.

Yes, i have to tie everything down when they get going.

The worst thing is that i am not finished. I have to make them wife acceptable when i do the final build. Probably sloping sides like your designs.

Still plenty of designing and fiddling to do yet  This thread is far from finished

Thanks Stu, but I wouldn't get too enthusiastic about big bastard omnis.
They're not proper speakers, they don't image, the bass is flabby, and they don't work in 40 x 20ft rooms.

You need to be let down gently, otherwise you'll not see what a deluded idiot you are and change your ways. You'll keep building them, not realising that everyone is quietly pissing themselves laughing and sending bitchy PMs to each other, while you carry on oblivious like.

Apart from that you're doing well.

You've got me going now and I really do need to get some ply and get my 10 inchers started.

I will let you all know when i am ready. They are not at my house - at my mums house ( farm) in my old bedroom where i lived for the first 30 years of my life. It will be good to get other peoples opinion at some point. Not Owston though :naughty:

Nah... Moose is a great bloke. Me and him go back ten years at least.
He was instrumental in helping me to get my original, non omni Metronome speakers to start playing music, way back in 2006.
Helped me to widen considerably the range of sizes of cabinets and drivers that could be used.

He just seems the most block minded of a few blocked minds at Audio Talk, but I have a bias, so I will take your word for it.

Oh, now you tell me i have been wasting my time for the last 8 months

I will build some proper speakers then. Really expensive drivers, 6 & 1/2 inch mid bass (or maybe an array of them to keep the waf slimline factor, complicated multiorder crossver and farting port - all dressed up in as much bling as possible. Point & squirt of course. Oh, forgot the copious amounts of cabinet stuffing.

I'll get started right away
