Brilliant at last some real quality competition and price competition.

In the summer I am up for another Phono Stage bake-off, perhaps on the anniversary of last years one. Personally I would like an amplifier one and a cable one. I can't make this months. Getting Colin Wonfor involved would be good, another of the good guys, so it is not the good v the also ran crap, they will be too scared this time to join in. They will have their 4th division bake-offs between themselves organised at AoS.

If you can pick up a 2nd hand 2Qute for around £600 now...that would be well worth hearing against the Qutest.

Toontrev, Hemmo1969, herbie07 and Quarknosis have all heard the 2Qute (fed by MicroRendu) at my place.

The 2Qute is said (by it's designer) to be optimised for USB, btw.
You can get a new one from Hi-Fi Corner for £795 at present. I am not a fan of Chord and their pricing but Rob Watts has a good track record with DACs having run Deltec in the 1990s.

It strikes me Yorkshire (and the NE) is becoming the last remaining enclave of people who want real hi-fi in the UK.

Sorry guys its been mental today in the shop. I just got home. Sad to say I have to re-schedule this weekends get together.

Its will be early February and on a SATURDAY so more may attend, planning a curry on the Saturday night afterwards anyone wants to stay over plenty of cheap guesthouses.

Date to be confirmed ASAP.
