Re: Earthquake in S Wales
Felt it here too, but more amazingly heard it 20 miles away here in Kidwelly. Yes apparently the epicentre of this latest one was Swansea, magnitude 4.7. and 6miles down!
Though back in 1984 when we lived in Burry Port our then house physically shook for what felt like 30 seconds and the epicentre of that one (mag 5.6) was on the Llyn peninsula.
Alfi.
PS seems as if the posting delay has been fixed too!

Re: Earthquake in S Wales
Cardiff felt the 1984 one. I was in work at the time on an upstairs floor and the building shook.

Re: Earthquake in S Wales
It's the weirdest thing isn't it. We had a similar sized one a few years back, the movement was pretty weird but the sound! Really low grumble that made you feel very uneasy came slightly before the movement.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Is Wales finally to be broken away from England? Can't help wishing it was Scotland.

Re: Earthquake in S Wales
I remember one centred in the North Sea several years ago. I woke in the middle of the night feeling a bit strange and heard the sound of something falling in the attic, I thought that an animal or bird must have got in and knocked something over and went back to sleep.
It was only when I got up the next morning and saw reports on the local news that it made sense and I realised that the disorientation had been due to the room shaking.

I hope not, I'm half English with a small percentage of Norman thrown in for good measure.kimangelis wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 5:23 pm Is Wales finally to be broken away from England? Can't help wishing it was Scotland.
