Woodstock.
BTW, only just found out that 2 people out of half a million died at Woodstock. One from a drug OD, the other from falling asleep under a tractor and the driver not realising he was there.

Re: Yer fav Hippy Film
Depends on what facet of "hippydom".
Free love?
Commune life?
Peace,love & flowerpower?
Drugs?
the music?
If it is the latter two then 60s/70s "hippy" films were uniformly dismal/disappointing.
Roger Corman (the horror guy) did a few of these with Jack Nicholson - The Trip however DOES have a half-decent soundtrack. (Which is rather surprizing since the main band is Electric Flag whose lps generally suck.)
Psych-Out ('68) is about hippy decadence and is uninteresting.
The Happening ('67?) with david Hemmings has a good soundtrack.
My fav would be "Candy". GREAT soundtrack and the movie moves at a quick pace and - unlike most hippy films of the period - does not take it seriously.
"Three In The Attic" is sorta hippy - where 3 women "sex" a young man to death. Excellent soundtrack by Chad & Jeremy.
Not sure you should class Easy Rider as a hippy film. Its a biker film. Hippies are not known for aggression. Or being rebels.
I guess seminally "hippy" is the brit film, "Work Is A Four Letter Word". David Warner as a longhair getting himself a nightshift job at a steamy factory just so as he can grow psychedelic mushrooms there. Good'un, but simple.
"Woodshock" made a few years ago was pretty good.

Re: Yer fav Hippy Film
Hollywood doesn't know how to properly do "hippie".
Its always this multi-coloured ,pastel-paisley ,dumb, Laugh-In chick take. Or, on the other side of the coin - the rebel/Vietnam protest Abby Hoffman take alla Wild In The Streets, The Wild ones....
Rarely commune life.
