Across the (bottom of ) board, AQ cables are, to me, the best bang-per-buck you can get before they start going up to silly (to me) prices; Vodka, Coffee, Diamond... I haven't tried those, I'm not likely to, and I'd have nothing to compare them with anyway.

I believe that in America, you can find AQ cables on racks in Walmart store,s and they certainly sell them online, so I'm guessing (again) that because AQ sell in some volume that they can keep their lower-end prices a bit more reasonable but still turn out cables comparable to the somewhat more expensive boutique stuff.

The other plus is, of course, because they sell quite a lot of cables, quite a lot of their cables come up on eBay, which is where I got most of mine. I've just picked up a second 1m set of Red River RCA leads for £30.00 (currently £129.00 new at Richer) and one of my AQ Carbon HDMI leads I picked up for £50.00 instead of £165.00 at Richer at the moment. AQ cables seem to be good enough to make people want to go up the range, so I'm happy to pick off their leavings on eBay.

The only reason I went for Blue Jeans for my Ethernet cable is because I'm certain I'll get the same, if not better build quality, for slightly less money.

I planned to run an Ethernet cable from virgin super hub 3 to the Apple box- 10m- but found the older version super hub 2. I have a cable inlet on the back wall of the listening room which will connect to the hub via coaxial then 50cm max to the Apple box- Ethernet.
Will there be any advantages to using the hub 2?
Cheers

Try it and see. Messing around with gear you already have lying about won't cost you anything. See if it is any different to the wireless link.

Later on you can still compare the connection via the hub2 to a direct cable from the Apple box. If you want to.

I've just received an email update about my Blue Jeans ethernet cables.

They left the FedEx "Origin" facility at Seattle in Washington at 17:51 yesterday
They arrived in Memphis Tennessee at 00:38 today and left again at 04:56
They will be with me before 12:00 midday tomorrow.

That is quite a speedy delivery, and I only ordered them last Saturday, the 11th.

If FedEx are delivering in the UK you can expect a bill coming through the post some time afterwards. This happened to me last year when I bought BNC cables for my Mscaler from the US. They wanted £28 from me. I refused to pay as the pp I had paid came to a fair bit more than this covering transportation and duties. Numerous letters followed over the coming months with the threat of a debt collector. Amidst this they sent me an email and I had not provided them with my address! I informed them that this raised Data Protection Act issues and should I recieve any further correspondence I would report them to the Police. This was the end of the matter and I will never knowingly have anything to do with FedEx again.

I've just had another look at the Blue Jeans website and they say this...
To almost all destinations outside the USA, we offer Federal Express International Priority shipping. FedEx International Priority typically delivers within 24 to 48 hours of shipment pickup, and our arrangements with FedEx allow us to prepay customs processing charges, taxes and duties so that you do not have unpredictable and unexpected charges owing at the time of receipt.
So I'm hoping that there won't be any nasty surprises from FedEx.

You should be ok. The catch could be the "almost all" in the wording. It seemed that FedEx wanted me to pay them twice. When the saga was going on everytime I saw a FedEx van go past I thought they could be sending round the heavy mob.

Was the same with me. The bill arrived through the post a week or so later.

It was a real shock as the streamer I bought directly from the US some time ago, which cost a lot more, arrived without all this nonsense.

Will be interested in your report on the sound of the cables.
