VG+ mostly meets the state of my records bought from new and listened to for decades. So that's my starting point at discogs.
And reffering to the title of the thread: discogs doesn't only consist of private collectors - every record dealer I know around here sells via that platform (but they're good dealers, the ones i know!).

Yes it's an issue that many folks selling don't really know how to grade properly. But for most part sellers will happily accept returns if there's a grading dispute, or offer a partial refund. I will often message sellers first and quiz them a little on the grading before pulling the trigger on something. Again, most of time they are very friendly - the shared love of vinyl seems to encourage a warm disposition.

CD's are harder to damage. Most important for me is that I can get a good data copy onto my PC.
