Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:This is for Seppi. I am building an A30 as well as the 40's, so being a stereo amp wiring is more complicated, but as you see from the pic if the heatsink and pcb are placed upright behind the amp all the wiring points are easily available, leaving enough slack so that the heatsink can come off easily for any repairs in the future. And no music ruining wiring looms

Thank you for putting my curious mind at ease, I had visions of a 2cm gap that you had to squeeze the Iron into and make the final connections.

Go on... just one little twist, make me a little circuit  (For our AOS readers) twisting two bits of wire together even just once really does alter the electrical properties.

That picture of Marco's listening cupboard made me laugh. He had deliberately twisted his loudspeaker cable into close proximity - daft idiot

Very boring I am afraid it is just a small cupboard (within a larger cupboard), so I am told.

I must admit that was the first thing I noticed. However, on checking the manufacturer's I read "Before connecting The WIND Mk II HYBRID to your equipment we advise to mildly twist both leads to keep them together."
I suppose it's the interpretation of "mildly" that's, well, open to interpretation.

Well to me then it is daft advice, by doing it you create extra capacitance and inductance on the load to the amplifier. But I suppose with his valve amp there is such a gross load anomaly due to the output transformer that that is swamping any effect from the cable.

Doc I hate Apple also, but how did you get the testing though to safety standard so quickly. I was told it takes month by my friend Nick.
