Anyway, I live in the nicer part of Southall. So don't take the piss
Often used to visit Southall for a curry when we lived in Uxbridge. We usually used to go to the Kashmir Tandoori & Sweet Centre opposite what used to be the Jet filling station and get a take away. Stunning food, and the closest you'll get to having a proper curry ie the stuff they make in India not the made-up stuff you get in the majority of curry houses in the UK.

Completely agree, just about the worst curry is in Brick Lane :naughty: so much price competition, free bottle of wine etc, with every restaurant having an irritator standing outside trying to drag you in, so the portions are small and the food not good.

Should you be drinking wine with a curry I'd have thought that the curry kills the taste of the wine ?

Depends on the curry - some wines and some lightly spiced curries maybe.

But mostly the answer is no - it's pretty awful (and the better the wine, the more the waste) but then people drink coke with curry which I find even worse.

In my opinion alcoholic drinks should be taken before the curry or not at all.

Ok I'm not mad I’d never bothered with wine with curry as I thought that it would not taste to good and I never like wasting money

All they give for free in Brick Lane is Pino Grigio, which is cheap crap so probably the curry is doing you a favour if you can't taste the wine properly.

Found this on line. It was a photo taken for the Tottenham Tech student union elections. I was standing for President the guy with me on the same ticket was standing for Chairman. He won, I didn't. Anyway very apt as he went on to be involved in politics after the unions. I was 18 he was a couple of years older and was my best mate at college. Folk was the music in '65 on the college circuit and we sang for a folk group called the freedom sons

Anyway, who will be the first person to guess who he is.

Never heard of those two, this guys name will be known by most people, he was famous if not notorious, especially with the tabloids. Died of a heart attack 12 years ago.

Trevor Phillips is head of Commision for equality, supercilious idiot in my opinion and for the record you cant defame a politician by commenting on your opinion of thier performance :D the other one I got from the net.

I now think I know who it is, but I didnt get the union connection? I'll leave others to guess, but a scouse socialist actor played a character with nearly the same name. I say that so you can prove I was wrong when someone eventually gets it right.
