As of last Friday a new update for Volumio 2 is available (v2.114). Various fixes and improvements ....

BUT still no support for HifiBerry Digi+ Pro. :angry-steamingears:

Ooh! Gold Star for you Mr! :guiness;

Of course I'd have to buy the DAC+ Pro to exploit...

Anything except the Digi+ Pro for now.

Volumio have a shop where they sell IQ and Allo boards, including the Kali Reclocker. So they are probably not pushing too hard to support HifiBerry at the moment.

Latest news on the Volumio front. I have found a message from the development team that in order to implement support for the HifiBerry Digi+ Pro board the system kernel needs to be modified. Effectively the software 'motor' that drives the audio processing.

There is a kernel overhaul due in the near future and when that comes they will include Digi+ Pro support.

Patience, patience. :pray:

Fascinating. I was thinking of getting into this area of sound but came to the conclusion that it was a lot of money for music I already had. Spent a LOT of moolah upgrading my CD player and amp. Apart from a few initial glitches, I've never regretted it.

Interesting that the background in the 3rd piccy is an LP of the lovely Rickie Lee Jones :oops:

I always chuckle when I see comments like this because those of us who are of "a certain age" faced precisely the opposite problem. We'd bought hundreds or thousands of vinyl LPs and were now being told that CD was the way forward. I made a vow not to replicate my vinyl collection (2000+ albums and about the same number of singles) on CD and I've pretty much stuck to that. There has been the occasional crossover where I've thought that the extras included on a CD warranted it or where the vinyl needed replacing due to crackles and pops (I bought a lot of "charity shop" records) etc. Now of course it's "all change" again, but at least this time I can rip my existing CDs to FLAC files whereas the process of burning vinyl to disc was always too cumbersome on a large scale.

Well I've replaced virtually all my old LP collection with CD. And then remastered versions, etc. Etc.

When will it all stop? :pray:
