It depends on the design of the output stage if difference are large or small.Alfi wrote:Removing the Velleman speaker protection relays from my NCC200 power amps and replacing them with direct links from amplifier PCB output terminals to speaker cable sockets. As there are about Kennedy, Rothwell, the Bermuda Triangle, Diana's death, and so many things it is daft.

Now that is the conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories. it is like looking in two mirrors at once, infinity, in this case of puerile
I am starting to think I am a conspiracy theory

What tickles me is that way conspiracy theorists reckon they know so much more than the 'sheeple', when they've acquired this knowledge solely by watching some poorly-recorded videos on YouTube and reading blogs by Some Bloke On The Internet (who could usually do with a shave and who looks like he dresses in the dark).

I have a little more detail which is great, but bass appears to have softened so I'm going to play around with different hook up wire.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:It depends on the design of the output stage if difference are large or small.Alfi wrote:Removing the Velleman speaker protection relays from my NCC200 power amps and replacing them with direct links from amplifier PCB output terminals to speaker cable sockets. Re: Nutters at it again
The wire is so short it shouldn't make that much difference. It will be something else. NVA circuit is *designed* to be used without it, so it makes it worse. If that amp is designed to be used with it and another part of the circuit is there to compensate for it then that will give you the results you are getting. Less in the way of the music means more music (in your case detail) but something in the protection circuit was being balanced tonally by something else. You have to understand the circuit and know what you are doing.
