Bernd Kistenmacher 'Wake Up In The Sun' (1987)
There are 'Berlin School' artists who are less well-known than their contemporaries like Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, one of these is Bernd Kistenmacher who has released a couple of very fine electronic albums throughout the years and my favourite of these is 'Wake Up in the Sun'. Three long-form tracks played on analogue synths and sequencers (actually i'm not sure that he didn't play the sequencer parts by hand). Lovely, melodic EM that is both relaxing and enthralling.
As for relaxation, I have recently shifted the main bulk of my listening back from digital to vinyl. The passive switch/preamp Upstairs has returned the turntable there into active mode, also Downstairs I have discovered that the tiny Aiyima A07 MAX mono amps sound simply wonderful in conjunction with the Logic TT and vintage low-output Grado Signature MCX cartridge. I don't remember my analogue front ends ever sounding this good. The forwardness and accuracy of Class D amps combines excellently with the smooth delivery from the Grado's in both systems.
Food for psychologists must be that in some moods and circumstances I prefer digital playback - but at other times I really only want to listen to vinyl. Another motivation is that I am hunting down some old fusion and Krautrock artists from the 70's whose albums are only available as (2nd hand) LP's. Jane is one such group with titles like 'Between Heaven and Hell' and 'Age of Madness', both heavily influenced by Pink Floyd.
Happy listening Y'all.

Cocteau Twins 'The Spangle Maker EP' (1984)
I had been a fan of the Cocteau's since their first LP 'Garlands' but this EP was the point, for me, at which they blew it up into another dimension of pure emotional power.
Still awesome, four decades on.

Re: Your last listen
Colosseum 'Pop Chronik' (1973)
You might think 'Ha! Ripoff German 70's compilation LP' but on closer inspection this double-set actually comprises of 2 complete albums from this groundbreaking Jazz-Rock outfit: 'To Those Who Are About to Die' and 'Daughter of Time'. The first and last instalments of their initial three studio albums.
It looks to have been a common practice in 1970's Germany to combine albums from British and American artists in this way as budget releases. And now, as well, as it isn't immediately clear what this is and trying to get vinyl copies of the original versions is a pretty expensive business - so it is an affordable way to acquire copies of these two amazing LPs.
In the same delivery I also got a similar package from Californian psychedelics 'Spirit' containing the eponymous debut album plus their third 'Clear'.
Groovy man.

IF 'Not just another bunch of pretty faces' (1974)
Recently, I have been diving into the dusty and forgotten corners of the 1970's and uncovering a surprising number of bands that have just passed me by until now.
British fusion groups like Colosseum, Tempest, Nucleus and Isotope have all come to my attention - and here's another: IF.
Solid jazzy, blues-rock that is a UK answer to Blood Sweat & Tears. Great musicianship on a thoroughly enjoyable album. Time for more investigation!

Tonight’s vinyl rundown
The Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette
Weyes Blood - And in the darkness hearts aglow
Thee Ohsees - Panther Rotate
Flat Worms - Flat Worms
Curtis Mayfield - there’s no place like America today.
Eels - SoulJacker
And best of The Carpenters for the wife. Karen Carpenter’s voice is still magical.
Another fascinating female voice - Joanna.Newsome. I may play her album ‘Divers’ next.
If you’ve not heard of her, try the track ‘Sapokanikan’ (from Divers) via a streaming service. The album is fascinating, as is the musicianship and her incredible voice . She’s a bit like Kate Bush, but not, and American.
I saw her live years ago at the Hammersmith Odeon. One of the best gigs I’ve ever been too.
And…. I’ve been to a LOT of gigs….
