Can you ever have too much comedy?savvypaul wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 10:06 amDoes Eurovision need more comedy, though?Lindsayt wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 10:03 am The singer from France made James Newman sound like a complete amateur.
The amount of pro UK bias from Graham Norton every year is quite embarrassing.
So much for the BBC being impartial.
How about the beeb geting someone that is a proper improvisial comedian to present it? Or someone that knows something about music? Or how about 2 presenters? 1 of each?
And it's not just about the quantity it's about the quality.

Re: Eurovision song contest......!!!
That also means that the UK can write decent songs and has proper singers. If it wants them.
The question is - how seriously does the UK take the Eurovision Song Festival these days or does it want to remain a laughing-stock.
Holland had the same problem of pathetic, weak entries until they put in 'proper' artists like Anouk ('Birds'), The Common Linnets and Duncan Lawrence.
In general, the standard of songs, singing and performance in the ESF has shot up in the last few years - it is now a grand spectacle that unites Europe and celebrates European culture.

Re: Eurovision song contest......!!!
Trivia time:
The Greek singer this year was a Dutch girl called Stefania who, at 18, was the youngest competitor. She lives in Utrecht and has represented The Netherlands in the Junior ESF.
Edit: In case you hadn't noticed - I'm a Eurovision fan.

Re: Eurovision song contest......!!!
The UK is never going to win Eurovision, it is too political. With that in mind why can't we enter an aspiring rock band with talent who could do with the exposure and not a pathetic ponce. I'm sure we would obtain some votes and not last.Fretless wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 10:21 amThat also means that the UK can write decent songs and has proper singers. If it wants them.

Re: Eurovision song contest......!!!
Despite current political shenanigans, Russia, Ukraine and Israel all came out with reasonable scores.
The lands that did worst were: UK, Norway (surprisingly), Germany (not surprisingly - song was crap), The Netherlands and Spain (also crap).
Bring back Katrina and the Waves!
