DSJR. Thought I'd shift the MP3 discussion over here before Jammy is forced to lift his kilt.. :o

I am hearing differences even between lossless formats like ALAC and FLAC. And hear resolution improvements on 24 bit over 16 bit. They are probably not measurable but low compression rates take an enormous amount of information out of a signal, restoring this to a WAV might produce a perfectly acceptable waveform but it won't be the same as the original.

Red Shift are good. They certainly pull off the Tangerine Dream sound. But i am not keen on the electric geetar that shows it's face every now & then.
Big Tangerine Dream/Klaus Schulze fan here :guiness;

Nothing but the best in EM here, been listening to some ARC discs recently, Boddy & Shreeve together. Especially 'church' and 'Umbra'. Klaus Schulze is God.

F.G. Experimental Laboratory 'Journey Into A Dream' [1975]

Yup, don't know that one. Will check it out.

As a TD fan you need to hear the Jive era albums: 'Poland' 'Underwater Sunlight' & 'Pergamon' all stunning.
I was bulk-buying from the Groove Unlimited catalogue clearout last year and got a stack of great EM. Worthwhile names like: Volt, Create, Hemisphere and label-owner Ron Boots has made some good Schulze-style CDs.
