True of every country in the EU, it is just human nature. If the EU was Northern European I would have no problem with it. Basically culture and race and religion have large effects. Really there should be two EUs. Baltic States, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Lux, Germany, Austria, Poland, Chek, Slovak and the UK. The rest including France in the other one, which will be constantly bankrupt.

It's time to leave. The argument about losing trade is poor. The STG/EUR exchange rate is a major factor in the price of goods and services. If you are in Spain and want to by some bricks and the UK supplier is cheaper than the German one then who gets the business ? There is little chance of trade embargoes or quotas or duties etc on UK goods and services as this would send its own message to the rest of the World.

The EU is undoubtedly envious of the success of the UK in general and London in particular. We Brits are used to standing on our own two feet. The Germans must be so cheesed off at having to pay for most of the rest of the EU.

Personally the only independence I think would work is for London and the South East up to Cambridge in the north and Oxford in the west to tell the rest of the country to piss off. Then it would make sense for that bit to leave the EU as we would largely usurp the position held by Switzerland if we did. Now I am not saying that is a good thing just being a realist.
Now you've moved south of Cambridge you think you're one of the elite

He was south of Cambridge before - he's just moved round the M25 a bit

I've never thought of myself as 'European,' but I'm (Aylesbury) English by birth and Nth Welsh (Denbighshire) by soul, so a half-breed of sorts. As I can't call myself 'Half-Welsh,' it has to be British!

The rest of the EU may admire parts of British business and culture, but they despise us underneath imo!

If the TTIP agreement goes through then Europe (all of it - including the UK) will be economically dominated by the American market.

Not at all, it will be good for us, we will have to wake up. US hifi (and just about everything inc jeans) prices in the UK, now wouldn't that be a good thing. I for one will be fighting off business. Easy imports of good 2nd hand hifi gear from the US on ebay etc.
