Re: New Technics 1200
Prove to me that I'm wrong, in 2 and 3 at least.
3, Is pretty well true and has been for years, hence the slow lingering death of the Hifi industry worldwide and 2, is measurable fact, even before you listen to anything!
As for 1, NO loudspeaker on this earth can come near to the real musical event, even on on-compressed or treated material. You just need to visit a good recording studio, hear a good live performance (like drums being played) and then step into the control room to hear uncompressed playback of same into the monitors. Impressive of the monitors can mimic the sheer volume and dynamics before compression, but still 'crap.'
So there! - and I'm not arguing the point further

Take no notice Permed One. As D.Q. has been banned from every other hifi forum he has to pick arguments with members of his "home" forum now. It's either that or apparently his head explodes. The Permed One wrote:

Re: New Technics 1200
We could start a new forum room called the "lets have an argument room" for DQ and others to practice in. Rules, no one is allowed to agree with anyone else, if they do they are banned from the room

Global revenue from sales of hifi is higher than ever. You have a funny definition of decline._D_S_J_R_ wrote:Prove to me that I'm wrong, in 2 and 3 at least.

Re: New Technics 1200
Crap is by definition subjective. Personally I am amazed at the sound that emanates from my speakers. Yesterday, prompted by recent discussions on hs I swapped the floor spikes on the bq wooden table that my tt sits on and replaced them with blocks of end grain balsa. I am very pleased with the results.
Finally there is no such entity as the general public .that is simply lazy arguing.
