Over-ear headphones.
Hello all.
This is aimed at Jammy... but extends to anyone who's into headphones. I have a really nice pair of Grado's that are open-backed, hence a bit intrusive for anyone else close-by. So, I'm also wanting to buy a good pair of (used) closed-back designs. I've short-listed models from Bowers & Wilkins (might be a bit too gentle) and a pair of Denon AH-D2000' s that seem to hit the spot.
I like listening to music more than watching the telly. My girlfriend likes watching telly more than listening to music.... You get the picture.
NB. I use an NVA headphone amp, so sensitivity isn't an issue.
Any recommendations or anything you want to off-load?

Re: Over-ear headphones.
There are a couple of HFS'ers who have the Audio Technica ATH-M50X, reasonably-priced closed-back design. Has a sound signature that is comparable to Grado's.
I use Sony MDR-100AAP which has a rounder/smoother character and excellent (not overblown) bass extension (they're available in blue, yellow, red and purple as well!!)

Re: Over-ear headphones.
I've been using a pair of Ultrasone Pro550 for some time. Gives an "out of phones presentation."
Re: Over-ear headphones.
kim, when last up me loft - I spotted an old (90's) set of closed back cans.
My memory is a bit shot these days (I blame it on substance abuse in me yoof) but I think they were Technics or JVC.
I do however remember they sounded very good indeed.
If you can wait till i return home in March, I will let ya have em for fuk all.

Re: Over-ear headphones.
I have pair of Audio Technica ATH-A900X 'phones and find them very good sounding, not so airy than my 325is were but bass is better to my ears. But they have little strange "wing support system" witch I think is not made to fit for everyone's head... For me it's little so and so....

My dearest Jammy.
It is very thoughtful of you, that, on your return from the merciless North Sea, you will venture into your loft and send the headphones on to me for FUK ALL.
Let me send you a fiver or something for the post charge at least sir.
Please PM me your email address
