Re: Can this be doped ?
I have been checking my bison kit doping twice a day. Today i noticed it has shrunk It did have an even flat top when i pored it, now the top surface looks concave just like the continuous cone. Weird

Re: Can this be doped ?
More googling of steel cabinets brought me to the Avondale Audio RMS Revelation II speakers with steel cabs and wooden top & bottom. Cabs have a curved back and crossover is external. Wow.
Found a thread on the friendly forum

Wish i could fabricate something like that but forget the crossover.

Re: Can this be doped ?
When the going gets tough the tough get going.
I use the chop saw for anything that will fit in its clamp. I use a jigsaw for steel up to 3mm but anything thicker than that needs an angle grinder or this Makita petrol cut off saw. Angle grinders are not the safest thing, sometimes they can fly out of your hands and do you some damage . The petrol saw is much safer in that regard, just a bit unwieldy . Wish I had a plasma cutter
Here is all the steel to go in one speaker. 8mm angle x4, 5mm plates x3.
I put all the steel in (bluetack came in handy) and realised that with all that in I cant get the mid/bass driver in . So one of the side plates will need to go in after the driver has been put in - tried it and it works.
I have a plate for the back panel but not sure I am going to use the original back panel. Here is the Russian paper in oil 3.3uf cap.
It's a big bugger

Russian K75-10 Hybrid Paper and Polyethylene Terephthalate In Oil Capacitor
This Russian military capacitor is quite intriguing in its reported construction and in appearance that resembles a small grenade. Its dielectric is claimed to be a hybrid of paper and polyethylene terephthalate, which is essentially a type of Mylar, saturated in oil. There is some debate as to which Russian “oil” capacitor is the best, and while K40Y is widely recognized and used, some report K75-10 is the premium oil capacitor out of the Russian military.

Won't the signal voltage get lost in it?

The signal is going to get lost in this, the premium PIO capacitor of the Russian military . Cant wait to hear it.
Been busy again & a bit more done.
Steel painted with hammerite black. Not had the courage yet to dope the tweeter
Found an oily substance in the gap around the neo magnet that the voice coil goes in . Is this ferrofluid ?
