Re: Forum Upgrade
Without the Portal a facility to view most recent posts is highly desirable.

The icon at the left on each topic is red when there are unread posts, and the red disappears when all posts are read.Classicrock wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 10:14 am Without the Portal a facility to view most recent posts is highly desirable.
Only does that when one is logged in.
Simples.

Re: Forum Upgrade
As I said earlier, we are forum with small members numbers and large quantity of lurkers. The portal helped the lurkers this new version doesn't. I want to find a way to make new posts more prominent. At AoS they have a link to newly updated threads which has pages of them going back into history.

BTW This last upgrade lost us our max visitor number it has started again.

Re: Forum Upgrade
Already acknowledged, and opinioned that it is not enough, it needs to be at least expanded, preferably with its own page like AoS. We need to be lurker friendly, not just member friendly.
Re: Forum Upgrade
If "lurkers" are really that interested then surely the sensible thing is to join up and be a proper member ?

Re: Forum Upgrade
It is what it is, we must try to cater for reality. For example how long did you lurk for before joining. Part of it is that at AoS, PFM and Wigwam they tend to ban any members who are members here. It is our way to comment on them and their owners and members, they do not like that as they run a mutual censorship agreement about discussing other forums. So some (a lot IMO) of their members prefer to just read here i.e. lurkers.

Re: Forum Upgrade
I lurked here for many months before joining. I discovered PFM before HFS and found it a bit tedious and eletist with a lot of spouted by the brain washed. I was jumped on by an eeeediot after my first post about the LP12. I found HFS far more in line with my way of thinking and through it discovered NVA - top quality gear at sensible prices. Say no more.

Re: Forum Upgrade
We will always have more lurkers than members , it is somewhat disappointing but to be expected .
it vindicates all we do and you don't need to be a member to read good advise,
