cube 2
I visited the Doc today and had a short listen to a pair of Cube 2's. I now know what people mean about other speakers being "point and squirt"!
Quite a strange, but very welcome, experience . The sound appeared to come from the wall behind the speakers, no "hot spots" in terms of image just music in the room. Several times I found myself smiling/gently chuckling, caused by a certain amount of disbelief with what I was hearing.
I thought that I was very happy with my current system but these little buggers have got me wondering "what if" (although I know it won't happen, as semi retirement and various other things to be paid for - two daughters, one at uni other applying for places for instance).
Any way, thanks for your hospitality Richard definitely food for thought on the speaker front, anyone in the market for new speakers must audition these.
Guy.

Re: cube 2
Very well described. I've had a pair of Cube2's for some years. Always been good, plus improving the source and cables just bring out more and more. Next (and final) upgrade will be to Cube1's.
Primare CD22. Primare DAB/FM radio. SSP to NVA AP70 and AP10H(JS) with Denon AH-D7100's. LS5 to Cube2's.

Re: cube 2
The natural presentation is a very big draw for me...but there is more than that going on, imo. I'm convinced that the lack of crossover and nasty stuffing is allowing a much cleaner, wider window to the music. Now I've heard that, I can't unhear it, or fail to notice that it is missing in many other speakers (such as the Harbeths I owned).
As I've said before, if I could only own one NVA item it would be the Cubes...

Re: cube 2
The only way as with Guy is to get people to listen, some will be stuck up the arses of their egos as with some of the comments Steve has got for his efforts, but I think a majority of enthusiasts have at least a degree of open mind and open ears. Anyway I see it as their loss where the mind is closed. Arses are arses and mostly always will be, probably a genetic trait.

Closed mind = closed ears. It would also help if they kept their mouth's closed too

Re: cube 2
My Cube 1s are less than 100 miles from you down the A1 - bring the Cube 2s for a comparison - rest of my system in sig.kimangelis wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 7:05 pm Very well described. I've also been organising a few bake-offs...probably Dacs next.

Stu - We had some success with Marco, he hardly talks about hi-fi now, as he knows he will just be shown up to be wrong, yet again.
