Not strictly true, but after returning home after a month in Malta to escape the British winter, this is now it seemed to me and it got better after some running in. It is the biggest Wow factor I have experienced. I think we can take good sound very much for granted and only fully appreciate it after living without it for some time. The Bose Mini Soundlink was no substitute, but after some time I got used to it and thought it sounded quite reasonable. I think it is all to do with expectations and perception. Most people live happily with something interior to a Bose fed with Tidal HiFi.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder - I am always happy with my system/surprised how good it sounds when I return from a holiday (and that is normally only a week).

Comparison is the key.

Many people write 'rave reviews' about something they buy or audition but fail to tell you in comparison to what else.

Nothing sounds better than 'a one month holiday', though.

I am not usually away for more than a week but now being retired circumstances have changed. We wanted to shorten the winter and get some sun. I was not struck by the SQ to such an extent after a week away last September.
