I know someone who has the Chameleon, he’s had it for years and still prefers it to anything else he’s heard.

I'm working towards the November Sale on AliExpress - there are ways of getting extra discount with coupons and coins.

For my tastes it looks like NOS-based DAC's suit me best. The TDA1543 is a relatively old processing chip that was cheaply mass-produced for simple digital-audio devices but it has gained a reputation as one of the most pleasant-sounding DAC components ever-made.
Although never the most accurate of processors, it seems if you run several in parallel and then combine the resulting data streams that good results can be had and that is what the TeraDak units do. I've been looking at the TeraDak Chameleon for years and wondering about it.
So now I'm finally going to get one.

It will be interesting to read what you think of the Chameleon. I have been looking to upgrade my Rega Dac version 1. Been looking at this and the Denafrips Ares. The Rega has been good but lacks a bit of dynamics and sometimes can be a bit too flat sounding.

Same here.

Metrum Musette
MF M1DAC
Topping D30
Cambridge Dacmagic Plus

Some USB devices on the reserve bench and a couple more unusable.

And the Chameleon is ordered - I ran out of patience.
