Cheers Paul, he's done a cracking job! To be honest I bought the platters to get over the fact that the Lenco platter is a little bit warped/dished.
My rationale being given they are not flexible they'd "eliminate" the warp below them by just sitting on the high spots of the Lenco platter. Seems to have worked a treat and as I try my best to get flat records having the Lenco "warp" every one of them would have driven me mad.
I bought them blind but did a bit of research that suggested they'd have a positive effect so having Ant confirm that was a result too....

Listening to a MKIII '3 pack' last night...new A70s (via Ls6) on woofer and midrange duty, new A60 (via prototype silver-plated version of LS1) on tweeters.

Tricky to see those amps in the shadow. Bet they sound good, though.

Same on the outside, upgraded on the inside...

They sound...silent, I'm very pleased to say, even with my ear to the heatsink. My existing MKII A70s and A80s make quite a buzz.

The power amp upgrades started out with me asking Tomasz how we could make the transformers stop buzzing. He told me, better transformers. He also told me that better quality transformers (and better quality capacitors) could have sound quality benefits. It was a conversation that he and Richard had on several occasions, and planned to implement when funds allowed. Richard's thinking was always that getting the most from the NVA circuit was all about the power supply.

With my Klipsch Heresy 3s, the new MKIII A60 is more detailed and more dynamic than my MKII A80 monoblocks. When I bi-amp my Cube 1s with the new A70s to the bass, and the new A60 to the tweeters, then they are obviously better than bi-amping with my MKII A80s and A70s. The NVA signature sound remains - pure and clean - but there is greater dynamics, separation and detail, and it all adds up to more engagement with the music.

I'm pretty sure Richard would say the higher va in the old a80s is better than a quality 150va.

10va less will make no difference, the better transformers and caps make an obvious difference.

Are you interested in hearing them, DQ?

Agree 10va won't make a difference.

I thought the a80s were 500va?

No. They are in the A100s...
